Thursday March 29

Yeah ... we ran into issues.

Mainly software ones, but some "electrical problems between the ear lobes".

Meh, it's ok. We worked on the presentations again today.

Y'all need to get these done.

On to Tuesday!

Wednesday March 28

Just seeing if I can park this here

So, if you cant watch the video, it's a "Do's and Don'ts for a job interview"

Essentially, what I'm getting you to do is put together a set of slides that do this:

Friday, Monday and Tuesday

Friday we did the visit to the Food Prep course.

The pizza was awesome.

Monday we did some catch-up work

Tuesday ... here is the question for tuesday

Thursday, March 22, 2018

Wed and Thursday

  1. Do not spend time on attempting to blame someone or something.
  2. State the problem clearly.
  3. Consider possible sources of help in solving the problem. List names of people who could help solve the problem.
  4. Study the problem in a calm manner. Think of possible solutions. Make a list of possible solutions.
  5. List the consequences that follow from each possible solution. For example, "if I do that, this will probably happen".
  6. Select the best possible solution or solutions.
  7. Follow through with the best possible solution or solutions.

These were the things we had to think about when trying to help out for our case study we are doing today and moving forward.

Tuesday March 20

We worked on the second part of U2A5 ... where we all got to talk about body language and active listening.

It was cool.

Not good body language

Monday March 19

today we got back at it. We did the first part of U2A5 ... we did a short conversation about self-advocacy and how it might help getting better marks in school and making things ... just generally better.

We got most of the part one done. We will continue tomorrow.

Welcome back!

Me one Break. No .... I wish.

Tuesday March 6

Today we worked on the Formal Writing assignment, where students were asked to find a real-life place they would like to volunteer and write them a letter to ask about exactly that.

Here is a pic of the requirements of the hours and the link:

Formal language in a letter that might actually be emailed to places to get volunteer hours to finish high school.

Interesting places mentioned too.

after that, we did a bit of catch up on U2A2 and U2A1.

Ketchup ... catch up

Monday March 5

Well, we got together and we talked about a number of things.

First off, we talked about this Ostrich farm near Guelph Ontario.

We also managed to talk about this great book I read in the summer, Stranger in the Woods. It's a short biographical story about the Hermit of North Pond.

We also chatted about U2A3, elements of good writing and got an assignment on it today. It's a formal piece of writing in the form of a letter to a group that each student would like to volunteer with, in the next few years.

Lastly, we talked about the Kevin Costner baseball movies:

Field of Dreams - also a great book
Bull Durham
and For Love of the Game - also a great book.

I hope everything else was awesome.
